Abstract

In this project we propose obtaining and experimental testing of an innovative magnetic nanobiomaterial consisting of ferrimagnetic nanoparticles bioconjugated with gamma-cyclodextrins in a hybrid ‘core-shell’ biostructure (core: ferrimagnetic nanoparticle, shell: cyclodextrins), in order to be used with high efficiency and reduced toxicity in the alternative therapy of cancer by superparamagnetic hyperthermia. The obtained nanobiomaterial will be tested in vitro and in vivo for the therapy of breast and skin cancer which have a high incidence in humans.
